For Immediate Release:

To whom it may concern —

Go Team Liberia would like to make it known that blogs and other news sites have been circulating misinformation regarding Liberia’s track and field results at the 13th African Games.

Maia McCoy, who represented Liberia in the women’s 100m race is not the second fastest woman in Africa. McCoy placed second at the finals and won the silver medal, but none of her times at the African Games place her as the second fastest woman in Africa this season. Please refer to the world athletics link for the top list of female African sprinters:

Additionally, Liberia Athletics did not send a 4×4 relay team to the African Games, as some platforms are reporting. They sent a male and female 4×100 relay team.

Please refer to the Accra2023 website for the list of teams that represented Liberia: https://results.accra2023ag.com/wrs/eng/zz/engzz_general-noc-overview-liberia.htm

Feel free to refer to Go Team Liberia for accurate information regarding Liberia’s results at the African Games, as the Games have not ended yet and we are still actively reporting.

Sincerely,

Manseen Logan (Executice Director and Chief Editor of Go Team Liberia) and Madeah Addy (Vice President , Social Media Director and Managing Editor of Go Team Liberia)
